Lincoln Children’s Museum is an absolutely wonderful place to bring groups of children for school or family outings. The main focus of this engaging museum is to present and promote learning & education in an interesting and exciting way – they really want to encourage the imagination and natural sense of wonder in children, helping them to learn lots about the world around them. The museum has many fixed exhibits as well as seasonal exhibits, which means that there is always something new and stimulating to experience.
The newest area of the Lincoln Children’s Museum is the Tiny Town of Big Imagination. This is a community-designed space, created to be the right size for children. Kids find this so much fun, and the area includes the Lincoln Fire & Rescue and Police Departments, Pet’s Vet, Sam & Louie’s Pizzeria, the BNSF Railways Train and much more. Seasonal events include such things as Super Hero Day – kids can dress up as their favourite super heroes and get into the spirit of fun and learning with themed activities.
The museum is spread over three floors and it is ideal for younger children, although plenty of older kids have visited who loved the experience! Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30am – 5.30pm and Sundays from 1.00pm – 5.00pm. The museum is not open on Mondays.
With plenty of parking space and discounts for larger groups the museum is ideal for field trips and there are activities which are arranged based on the age group of the children attending. Birthday parties can also be held here and are an interesting twist on the usual party locations.
