Eco Friendly Transportation – Dedicated To A Better Future

In March of 2016 Arrow Stage Lines launched a learning partnership with the University of Vermont’s (UVM) Certification for Sustainable Transportation Program (CST) to deliver better eco friendly transportation.

The Certification for Sustainable Transportation program was founded in 2012 to help improve economic, environmental, and energy efficiency within the passenger transportation sector.

“Motorcoach travel has always been one of the top clean transportation options, but we are always looking for ways to improve our operations” said Arrow Stage Lines’ COO, Luke Busskohl. “This partnership with the university educates our drivers on ways we can help preserve a better tomorrow through better operating practice.”

All Arrow Stage Lines’ drivers are in the process of becoming Eco Certified by the university’s CST program. Drivers are placed in a number of on-line learning courses to better understand how their driving performance can positively impact the world for future generations.

Currently, over 79% of all Arrow Stage Lines drivers have achieved their Eco Certification. Drivers will be responsible for maintaining their certifications over the coming years.

“There are always advancements in our industry. New ways to deliver better service to our passengers, and our communities,” said Arrow Stage Lines President & CEO, Steve Busskohl. “This program is just one more way we can help make our world a better place for future generations.”

The program aims to reduce greenhouse gas and other harmful emissions, increase energy efficiency, and utilize new technologies.

The CST programs can have positive impacts for communities, families, homes, farms, businesses, and the natural environment.
