Charter Bus Tradition Continues At 2016 College World Series

Baseball has always been America’s game. The College World Series in Omaha, Neb. is home to some of the deepest traditions in college baseball history. Arrow Stage Lines is proud to be an important piece of the continuing tradition. Arrow Stage Lines has been providing charter bus transportation for incoming teams for over a decade.

Teams are welcomed with decked out charter motorcoaches. Returning teams always have their Arrow Stage Lines’ driver of choice. Each driver takes pride in sprucing up their Arrow Stage Lines motorcoaches in anticipation of each team arrival.

“It’s a special time at Arrow when the CWS starts approaching,” said Arrow Stage Lines’ COO, Luke Busskohl. “Special operations meetings are held leading up to the event and each driver waits anxiously to see if their team is going to make it.”

The company provides athletic charter bus transportation to collegiate teams all across the country, but teams earning a trip to the CWS, are not teams Arrow Stage Lines usually work with. Arrow Stage Lines has played a role in the CWS for over a decade, and was selected for a variety of reasons.

The first being superior safety performance. Arrow Stage Lines award-winning superior safety is better than 95% of other charter bus carriers across the nation. This is a big deal in the eyes of the NCAA. Excellent equipment, well-trained drivers, and an elite maintenance program are all factors as well.

Arrow Stage Lines charter bus drivers all take on the personality of the team over the course of the event. For some teams this can be over a week in duration, so they make sure their driver is well taken care of during the event.

“Our charter bus drivers love working with the teams,” said Arrow Stage Lines COO, Luke Busskohl. “They all get decked-out in the latest team gear, hats, pullover, everything. It’s a great event to be a part of, and our drivers absolutely love it.”

Skip Stern, a season Arrow Stage Lines charter bus driver, is the choice driver for Miami baseball. Miami, a near constant at the CWS, always knows Stern will be there waiting from them when they deplane in Omaha, Neb.

“Skip loves the CWS,” said Arrow Stage Lines’ Omaha, Neb. Dispatcher, Chris Clark. “They are family to him. He makes sure the motorcoach is clean, polished and ready for the team. He even goes as far as to secure the team logo in various places on the charter bus.”

It’s no surprise Skip is so adamant about the team’s motorcoach being in top condition. He sports championship rings provided by the team.
