Arrow Stage Lines was proud to partner with the LPGA and the Solheim Cup this year at the Des Moines Country Club located in West Des Moines, Iowa. The 2017 Solheim Cup took place August 14-20, 2017, and was a record setting year for the Solheim Cup. With over 125,000 people in attendance over the seven day event, it surpassed the last record by astounding numbers. More than 50 percent of attendees came from outside of the state of Iowa, including fans from more than 25 countries. Fans purchased more than $2 million in merchandise which broke yet another event record.
Arrow Stage Lines was proud to be the chosen transportation provider for this years Solheim Cup event in West Des Moines. Arrow Stage Lines was in charge of over 60 motorcoaches which provided transportation for the USA and Europe teams, along with shuttle transportation for many Des Moines hotels and general parking lots. With record breaking attendance, Arrow Stage Lines was sure to be prepared. With over 75 motorcoach operators and corporate operations staff on-call and on-site, Arrow was able to provide seamless transportation for this week long event.
“When we got the call one year ago about this event, we were excited to start immediately to be prepared for such a significant event for the state of Iowa,” said Arrow Stage Lines COO, Luke Busskohl. “With over 75 team members involved in making this work so well, I think it really showcases our team atmosphere here at Arrow Stage Lines.”
To make all of this happen and for Arrow Stage Lines to get over 60 motorcoaches to the Arrow Des Moines location, there were 7 Arrow locations that helped provide motorcoaches and motorcoach operators. The bar was set incredibly high by Des Moines for the Gleneagles Resort in Scotland to clear when the 16th Solheim Cup is played there in 2019.
“The team effort put in by our entire team here at Arrow Stage Lines really showed as they wrapped up this major LPGA event this week” said Arrow Stage Lines CEO, Steve Busskohl. “This was a big step for our central Iowa location, and we are excited to be in the growing and booming market in Des Moines.”
